Function: Converts Quicktime-readable media files into iPod-readable videos.
Author: Ari Bader-Natal
Notes:
Needs to be installed as a Finder Plugin (copy to ~/Library/Workflows/Applications/Finder/ )
Select some movie files, right click on one of them, and select the workflow from the Automator menu. Quicktime Player will each movie, export it to an iPod-friendly video format, import it into your iTunes Library (and Videos playlist), and play it for you. Next time you sync your video-capable iPod, your movies will be viewable on the iPod!
Updates:
(version 1.0.3 16Nov2005, now includes an installer.)
(version 1.0.2 1Nov2005, added error handling for QT and temp folder.)
(version 1.0.1 27Oct2005, increased timeout from 1 to 60 minutes.)

My appologies if I sound ignorant, but I’m no great tech wiz.
Would this program work on a PC?

I happened to search some useful iPod related products, and found a useful blog: youtronic.blogspot.com, which claims itself an encyclopedia for some iPod software. And it does show me understand how to put movies to QT format, or mp4 format.

You might just need to process the MPG files in StreamClip before importing them into your iPod. When I copy MPG files from the PC, the format is a litle different, and I need to do this before I edit the MPG files in iDVD or other Mac Apps. http://www.squared5.com/
Great utility, and it’s free.
