One might argue that a raw file converted without intervention is still better than a JPG. In any case, it's just an action that performs a function. Some might find it useful, some not. C'est la vie.

I find it strange that the very thing that makes RAW so superior is being bypassed by this action. The whole point of RAW is to give you control over how the files are converted from RAW to TIF or PSD or whatever. And this action takes you right past that control part and creates files that are no longer capable of giving you that control.

What am I missing here?

Version 1.1 is out, it fixes a little annoyance with having to tab off the text fields before the value is saved.

Fast Half size mode does exactly what it says... cuts the image in half, not the resolution but the actual image. 4"x 6" becomes a 2"x 6"

There is now an update to version 1.0. Rotate now works and a bug with home directories has been fixed.

You can drag the files to the Automator window, where they will appear as a single "Get Finder Items" action..you could also save the workflow as an application or finder plug-in, allowing you to select and convert the files on the fly.

Nevermind - I figured it out...

For all the other newbies with similar issues - select the images you want to convert, right click and select automater...then select your "camera raw" selection from the library...

Thanks!
