Daring Fireball: Safari’s Unscriptable Tabs

Just uncovered this article on Daring Fireball, from May 2003: http://daringfireball.net/2003/05/safarisunscriptabletabs
Is this still a limitation in Safari (i.e. no script access to Safari’s tabs)?

Is there a way I could work this ‘Save Safari Web Archive’ into a workflow where it would do this for ALL open tabs in Safari? Like automatically loop through each tab, bring it to the front if necessary, save it to a webarchive, then go the the next tab, etc, for all tabs?
Any leads would be most welcome…I am a total newbie to Automator and/or Applescript though. Not so up on writing my own applescript or automator actions, but I could maybe cobble together existing stuff if anyone knows of some pieces.

But how do you automate converting safari webarchives to PDF files? How can you open all the webarchives and go to the print option to save as PDF?
This is simple but I cant find it anywere.
Very frustrating.

I agree, the ability to choose link depth would be tremendous.
