Function: Copies the title and comment of iPhoto images into the Spotlight Comments field of the corresponding image files.
Author: Nick Takayama
Requires: Selected items in iPhoto
Input: (iPhoto items)
Result: (iPhoto items) The iPhoto 4 images will have a Spotlight comments field that uses the Title and Comments from iPhoto.
Notes: The primary purpose of this action is so search queries will work on iPhoto 4 images, which aren’t otherwise recognized by Spotlight. It works on iPhoto 5 images as well. May be very slow, especially when used on hundreds or thousands of images.
I’m not sure I’m that familiar with Automator, so perhaps that’s my problem, but presumably this is arranged with a 1) Get Specified iPhoto Item, 2) Makie iPhoto4 Image spotlightable way. In this case, it’s a shame it cannot seem to understand a library or folder, but insists on them being selected individually in the ‘Get Specified…’ dialog.
Oh, and it’s currently working on a selection of 37 images and has been over 5 minutes already. Seems a lot (I’m going for lunch now - if it’s still going when I get back, I’ll be very worried).

Are album names included? I rarely name or comment on photos, but almost always organize them into albums. Is this info automatically included in the comments, or could someone figure ut how to do so?
